Calabasas is a beautiful city located in the southwestern part of the San Fernando Valley. Calabasas is part of the Las Virgenes Unified School District, one of the highest ranked districts in California. The city is a leader in environmental awareness, going as far as banning single-use plastic bags and Styrofoam containers, and prohibiting smoking in all public places. Calabasas is the perfect place to raise a family, with a low crime rate, good schools, and even a park with integrated equipment for disabled children (Brandon's Village inside of Gates Canyon Park). The city funds its own public transportation services, using shuttles and trolleys instead of buses, and also funds its own library. The city has many famous residents, and is a hub for the rich and famous in Los Angeles. The neighborhoods are beautiful! Some communities are gated.
